Berlin war übrigens mal wieder wunderbar! Das Wetter, die Stadt, Family Time. Meine Eltern haben mich zu einem Mumford& Sons Konzert an der Waldbühne eingeladen und es war einfach extrem entspannt und schön. Und natürlich war ich auch ein bisschen shoppen und (oh-my-god) verdammt gut Thailändisch essen. Life is good. Amen.
Ich hab news und ja, ich find's auch urkomisch, dass ich bei jedem zweiten Post eine neue Reise ankündige. I'm off to Amsterdam. Zum zweiten Mal diesen Sommer, denn meine allerliebste Spanierin Ane ist dort mit Freunden und wer wäre ich denn,wenn ich sie nicht besuchen würde? Wie selbstlos ich doch nur bin.

Berlin was wonderful, by the way. The weather, the city, family time. My parents invited me for a Mumford& Sons concert at the Waldbühne (a huge amphitheatre like stage in the forest) and it was extremely relaxed and nice. Of course I was shopping a little and had some (oh-my-god) damn good Thai food. Life is good. Amen.
I've got news and yes, I do find it very amusing how I talk about a new destination in every second new blog post. I'm off to Amsterdam for the second time this summer, as my favourite Spaniard Ane is there with some friends. Who would I be to not visit her! How selfless of me!
I can't wait!

Mit einer Woche Verspätung liege ich nun in der Tat in unserem Garten und geniesse diesen wunderschönen Frühlingstag. Dass ich das kanadische Wetter während der letzten Tage vermissen würde hätte wahrscheinlich kaum einer gedacht. An solchen Tagen habe ich zurück an den letzten Spätsommer gedacht und wollte euch natürlich nicht die dementsprechenden analogen Fotos vorenthalten.
In den letzten Tagen hat sich, trotz kurzer Phasen der Langeweile und Einsamkeit, einiges getan. Ich war in Amsterdam, habe mich dort bei einer renommierten Uni für Hotel Management and Hospitality beworben und habe heute, viel schneller als erwartet, die gute Nachricht bekommen, für Februar 2016 angenommen worden zu sein. Bis dahin wird aber noch einiges passieren. Norwegen, Portugal, Holland, Kanada. Helau!

A shortened version due to sunshine induced laziness: I've had to wait a week to actually lay in our garden and enjoy this beautiful spring day, but as I'm doing so I want to show you analogue photographs from last year's late summer. Who'd have thought that I'd be missing the good Canadian weather?
A lot has happened during the last week. I was in Amsterdam, had an interview at a university for hotel management and hospitality there, and got my acceptance letter today! February 2016 will mark a new chapter, but until then great things will happen! Norway, Portugal, Holland, Canada.

Updates! Ich arbeite nun schon seit über 6 Monaten in Whistler (BC) und hatte einen fantastischen Winter mit weniger Schnee und Ahornsirup als erwartet, aber dafür mit umso mehr tollen Menschen und unbeschreiblichen Erfahrungen. Mein Leben ist ein Traum - das begreife ich allerdings viel zu spät.

Meine Pläne haben sich während der letzten Wochen drastisch geändert: Statt länger in Kanada zu bleiben musste ich meinen Flug vorverschieben, d.h. ich werde am 26. Mai (also in knapp 2 Wochen) wieder Fuß auf deutschen Boden setzen. Der Hauptgrund dafür ist ein Interview an einer Uni, an der ich mehr als alles andere immatrikulieren möchte, am Ende des Monats. Gotta get my life together and all that. Aber ehrlich gesagt kann ich es kaum abwarten nach Hause zu kommen und meine Familie und Freunde (you know who you are) in die Arme zu schließen. Ich könnte nicht dankbarer sein für all die Erfahrungen, die ich in den letzten 9 Monaten gemacht habe, aber es ist an der Zeit.

Updates! I've been working in Whistler (BC) for over 6 months now and had an absolutely fantastic winter. There were less snow and maple syrup than I anticipated, but even more great people and incredible experiences. My life is a dream - I'm starting to grasp that far too late though.

My plans have changed drastically over the last few weeks: Instead of prolonging my time in Canada I had to book an earlier flight, meaning on 26th May (in about two weeks) I will stand on German soil again. The main reason for that is an interview for my first choice of university at the end of the month. Gotta get my life together and all that. I honestly can't wait to be back home in the arms of my family and friends (you know who you are) though. I couldn't be more grateful for all the experiences I've made in the last 9 months, but it is time.

Home is calling.

Okay, mittlerweile ist es eine Weile her, dass ich London, nach drei ereignisreichen Jahren, hinter mir gelassen habe. Mein letzter Schultag war Mitte April, die Prüfungen im Mai und die Abschlussfeierlichkeiten Ende Mai. Jetzt ist es August. Zwar sind die Tage noch warm und wunderschön, aber ich fühle wie der Sommer sich dem Ende neigt. Oder vielleicht fühlt es sich ja auch nur so an, da ich meine geliebte Heimat schon in weniger als einer Woche verlassen werde. Ich fliege nach Kanada, um dort zu arbeiten, zu reisen und die Welt einmal ganz anders kennenzulernen. Für ein Jahr. Work & Travel nennt sich das ganze und: Ja, mittlerweile habe ich Angst. I like to challenge myself. Aber ich weiß, dass die Einsamkeit mich runter ziehen wird und dass ich durchdrehen werde, wenn etwas schief geht (was der Fall sein wird). Ich freu mich so verdammt darauf, aber im Moment will ich mich einfach nur mit einem guten Krimi unter meiner Bettdecke verkriechen und niemals gestört werden.

Okay, it's been quite a while since I, after 3 eventful years, left London behind. My last day of school was in april, my finals were in may and the graduation events were late may. Now it's august. The days are still long and warm, but I feel that summer is slowly coming to a close. Or maybe it just feels like that to me, because I will be leaving my beloved home in less than a week. I am going to fly to Canada to work, travel and get to know the world in a completely different way. For a year. Yes, by this point I'm beyond scared. I mean I like to challenge myself, but I know for a fact that the loneliness will crush me and that I will go mad if anything goes wrong (which it will). However, I'm also looking forward to it so unbelievably much, but right at this moment I just want to crawl under my blanket with a good crime thriller and never let anyone disturb me. Ever.

Rock am Ring 2014. It's on like Donkey Kong; die Festivalsaison hat wieder angefangen. 80.000 verschwitze Menschen, eine Ernährung bestehend aus Müsliriegeln und Pommes, nie vor Sonnenaufgang schlafen und (...) abspacken auf der Aftershowparty. Mit den Killerpilzen. WHAT?
Ein drittes und leider letztes Mal habe ich diese unbeschreibliche Atmosphäre am Nürburgring genossen (dieses Mal mit meiner verrückten Nudel Elena) und, glaubt mir, ich verfluche die Grüne Hölle so sehr. Aber immerhin: #crazytownisback (fragt lieber nicht)
Nun denn, kennt eigentlich noch irgendjemand die Killerpilze? Und auf was für Festivals geht ihr so dieses Jahr?

Rock am Ring 2014. It's on like Donkey Kong; Festival season has started again. 80.000 sweaty bodies, living off of cereal bars and fries, never going to sleep before sunrise and (...) going crazy at the after show party. With the band Killerpilze. Wait, WHAT?
I've enjoyed the incredible atmosphere at the Nürburgring a third and final time (this time with my crazy chick Elena) and, trust me on this one guys, I have a passionate hatred for the Grüne Hölle, which will be the new festival at the same site. Well at least #crazytownisback (don't ask)
