Wieso ich schon zum 6. Mal auf Nos Alive (früher Optimus Alive) in Lissabon war muss ich wahrscheinlich niemandem mehr erklären. Das hab ich ja schliesslich 2012, 2013 und 2014 schon getan. Trotzdem: Ein verdammt gutes und tanzbares Lineup, Sonnenschein ohne Ende, billiges Bier, die lieben und lebensfrohen Portugiesen, eine Atmosphäre, die mit Magie nicht geizt, und die nahe Lage an einer meiner liebsten Städte. Ich hab saudade (ein Wort, über das nur das Portugiesische verfügt und welches über Sehnsucht weit hinaus geht) wenn ich allein daran denke. Und anders, als auf anderen Festivals spielen hier weniger Bands, aber dafür gut selektierte, die zudem längere Sets spielen. What more do I want?
Ich weiß übrigens gar nicht, ob es mich stört oder freut, dass jedes Jahr mehr und mehr internationale Fans hingehen. Aber doch, eigentlich bin ich stolz, es mein "Heimatfestival" zu nennen und immer nur gutes über Nos zu lesen, wie zum Beispiel auf Goldrausch! Die ganzen Engländer, die da volltrunken und spärlich bekleidet rumpöbeln passen dagegen allerdings gar nicht ins Bild. Die können gerne auf Reading, Glastonbury und co. bleiben.
Obwohl ich dieses Jahr viel weniger Zeit vor der Bühne verbracht habe als je zuvor und auch mal erst abends um 9 zum Festivalgelände gekommen bin hab ich es so sehr genossen. Zu meinen diesjährigen Highlights zählen u.A. Muse, alt-J, Chet Faker, The Prodigy, Metronomy, Future Islands und die Wombats. Vollkommen von sich überzeugt haben mich übrigens Disclosure, Bleachers und Django Django, die ich alle erst seit weniger als einem Jahr kenne. I don't think there's a need to explain to anyone why I've gone to Nos Alive (previously Optimus Alive) in Lisbon for the 6th time this summer, as I've already done that 2012, 2013 and 2014. But either way: A fantastic and danceable lineup, sunshine en masse, cheap beer, the lovely Portuguese folk, an atmosphere full on magic, and the close proximity to one of my favourite cities. I've got saudade (a word that only exists in Portuguese - maybe somewhat like yearning, desire nostalgia combined) just thinking about it. Unlike other festivals there are fewer bands, yet a fantastic selection, who play longer sets. What more do I want?
Despite spending less time being in front of the stages than ever before and even going to the festival grounds at 9 in the evening once: I've enjoyed it so much! This year's highlights were Muse, alt-J, Chet Faker, The Prodigy, Metronomy, Future Islands and The Wombats. I've also been convinced entirely by Disclosure, Bleachers and Django Django, all of whom I've known for less than a year.
