Johnston Canyon // Ink Pots

Mein Volunteer-Programm mit Parcs Canada in Banff (in der Provinz Alberta) ist einfach der Hammer!! Ich hab jetzt knapp eine Woche hinter mir und fühle mich nicht so als hätte ich auch nur eine Minute gearbeitet. 90% unserer Zeit verbringen wir draussen mit Aktivitäten wir Wandern, Fahrrad fahren, Gartenarbeit, Kulturevents, etc. und ich geniesse es in vollen Zügen! Klar, es ist wahrscheinlich die körperlich anstrengendste Woche meines Lebens gewesen und unsere Arbeit ist von großer Bedeutung für den Nationalpark, aber ich finde, dass ich vor allem persönlich durch dieses Projekt sehr stark profitiere. So bin ich zum Beispiel bei der fast fünfstündigen Wanderung am Johnston Canyon bis zu den Ink Pots mehrmals über mich selbst hinausgewachsen.

Und ich würde es immer wieder tun.

My volunteer project with Parcs Canada in Banff (in the province of Alberta) is simply the bomb!! I've been here for about a week and don't feel like I have worked a minute. We spend 90% of our time outdoors doing activities such as hiking, riding our bikes, gardening, attending cultural events, etc. and I am enjoying every second of it! Of course, the past week might have been the most exhausting one of my life and we benefit the national park with the work that we do a lot, but I've got the feeling that I benefit from it the most. E.g. we hiked for almost five hours along Johnston Canyon to the Ink Pots and I had to find a way to stop holding myself back multiple times.

And it was worth it. So worth it.
