Föhr, Germany - 22nd to 28th December 2013

Glückseligkeit. Stille. Nachdenken, reflektieren. Die Erkenntnis, dass es so nicht weitergehen kann. Jahre meines Lebens wurden verschwendet an jemanden, der nie in der Lage sein würde, mich so zu sehen und lieben wie ich ihn. Neuanfang. Besser zu spät als nie. -
Whatever. Wie schon *letztes Jahr* habe ich die letzten Tage und insbesondere die Weihnachtstage mit meiner Familie auf der kleinen, aber feinen nordfriesischen Nordseeinsel Föhr verbracht. Und es gibt immer noch viel Wein, viele Schafe, Felder, Senioren, Strandspaziergänge, Regen, gutes Essen, blah. Sehr besinnlich sowat. Weihnachtsstress hätte ich (vor allem jetzt) überhaupt nicht abhaben können. Morgen geht's dann aber auch schon wieder nach Hause. Wie freu ich mich stattdessen schon auf den ganzen Silvesterstress. Not.

Felicity. Silence. Thinking, reflecting. The realisation that it can't go on this way. Years of my life have been wasted on a person that has never been capable of loving me to begin with. Not the way I loved him. New beginning. Better now than never. - 
Whatever. Just like last year I spent a couple of days, particularly Christmas, on the north frisian North sea island Föhr. And there's still plenty of wine, a lot of sheep, fields, senior citizens, walks on the beach, rain, good food, blaah. Pretty cozy and awesome. I wouldn't have been able to stand all the Christmas stress. Not now, not like this. Tomorrow I'll go back home though. Oh, how I'm looking forward to all that new year's stress instead. Not.

Es ist soweit. Finally. Mein Senior Year in High School ist schon halb vorbei und vor ein paar Tagen haben wir endlich unsere Abschlussfotos bekommen. Ich hab gedacht, ich kann euch ja mal ein bisschen an meiner Erfahrung teilhaben lassen. Schliesslich ist auch dieser Abschnitt meines Lebens bald vorbei, nach drei Jahren werde ich England und meinem geliebten London zunächst einmal wieder den Rücken kehren. Tempus fugit und so. Was danach kommt, gehört hier jetzt nicht hin. Erstmal muss ich den Gedanken verkraften abld mit der Schule fertig zu sein. Versteht mich nicht falsch: Ich freu mich so SO sehr. Aber ich habe auch Angst vor dem, was noch auf mich zukommt. Oder vielleicht hab ich auch nur Angst vor meinen Final Exams. (Oh hell!)

The time has come. Finally. My senior year in high school is already half over and a couple of days ago we got our senior pictures back. And I thought I would let you take part in my experinces a bit, since this chapter of my life will be over quite soon. After three years I will turn my back on England and my beloved London (at least for a little while). Tempus fugit, ya know? What comes next does not belong here. First I need to cope with the fact that I will soon be done with school soon. Don't get me wrong: I'm so SO stoked for it! But I'm also afraid of what will come next. Or maybe I'm just scared of my finals. (Oh hell!)

Get Lucky - Daughter // Victoria & Albert Museum, London, UK

Ein Hoch auf die Kunst. Es kommt wirklich kaum etwas an einen Tag im Museum heran. Leider hab ich viel zu selten Zeit für dafür. Viel zu tun. Mehr als je zuvor. Und das liegt nicht nur (wie sonst) an meiner Brit School und dem Internatsleben in Übersee. Es passiert einfach in letzter Zeit so unglaublich viel um mich herum. Und guess what: Ich bin glücklich, irgendwie. Aber zur selben Zeit hab ich Ansgt vor dem was kommt und vor allem vor dem, was nie kommen wird. Während ich so über mein Leben reflektiere, fange ich an zu hinterfragen, ob es alles ist, was ich will und ob ich mir den richtigen path ausgesucht habe. Ständig fragen mich Leute, was ich mit meinem Leben und insebesondere meiner beruflichen Zukunft anfangen will. Und ehrlich gesagt, hab ich keinen blassen Schimmer. Fühlt es sich so an erwachsen zu werden?

Apropos: Morgen ist mein 18. Geburtstag, der Tag auf den ich seit einer Ewigkeit gewartet habe. Aber eigentlich fühl ich mich überhaupt noch nicht ready dafür. Ich will es noch ein bisschen geniessen jung und frei zu sein. Aber es scheint, als wäre mir das nicht vergönnt.

A toast to the arts. There's nothing quite like a day spent in the museum. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of time for that nowadays. A lot to do. More than ever. And that's not (only) due to my brit school and boarding life overseas. So incredibly much has been going on in my life these past months and weeks. And guess what: I'm happy, somehow. But at the same time I'm afraid of what is to come and especially what is not. While I'm reflecting upon my life I am starting to question whether this is all I'm aspiring to have and and whether I've chosen the right path. People ask me what I want to do with my life and especially my future profession. Honestly: I don't have a clue. Is this what growing up feels like?

On that note: Tomorrow is my 18th birthday, the day I've been waiting for for what feels like an eternity. But I don't feel the slightest bit ready yet. I want to relish being young and free a little longer, but it seems like I'm not granted that.

Ja, klar. Super kreativ so ein Instagram-post. Glaubt mir: Normalerweise bin ich wirklich die Erste, die sich über solche Posts beschwert. Aber whatever, lyncht mich doch.

Übrigens: Momentan höre ich ständig Lewis Watson, New Ancestors, Arcade Fire und das Debütalbum von The 1975. Nur mal so als kleiner Tipp.

Yeah, sure. Such a creative idea doing an Instagram-post, I know. Trust me: usually I'm the first person to complain about those, but whatever. Lynch me!

On an entirely different note: At the moment I listen to Lewis Watson, New Ancestors, Arcade Fire and especially The 1975's debut album. Just a small hint.
